GOODWILL PROJECT:

2017 FIRST SEMESTER- NATURE CONSERVATION COUNCIL: As you know, the environment holds a special place for La Source, providing us with inspiration and joy! So we decided to support the great work that nature.org.au does, as a voice for nature in NSW. This democratic, not-for-profit, non-government organisation that represents a diverse range of conservation groups in New South Wales, protects bountiful biodiversity and environmental change, and that's something we LOVE!

2016 LAST SEMESTER- FRED HOLLOWS FOUNDATION: As artists (and humans), we often take the gift of sight for granted. This wonderful foundation named after our Randwick local eye surgeon Fred Hollows seeks to end preventable blindness around the world. They also run health programs in Indigenous communities, which we are keen to get behind and support.

2016 THIRD SEMESTER- BRIDGING THE GAP FOR INDIGENOUS CHILDREN: The Cathy Freeman Foundation programs help broaden horizons and inspire Indigenous students to experience their full potential in school, and beyond. It acknowledges the strength and wisdom that lies within remote Indigenous communities through partnerships with community, elders and school leaders. Our desire is for the our indigenous brothers and sisters to have the same opportunities as all Australians.

2016 SECOND SEMESTER- NATURE CONSERVATION COUNCIL: As you know, the environment holds a special place for La Source, providing us with inspiration and joy! So we decided to support the great work that nature.org.au does, as a voice for nature in NSW. This democratic, not-for-profit, non-government organisation that represents a diverse range of conservation groups in New South Wales, protects bountiful biodiversity and environmental change, and that's something we LOVE!

DECEMBER IS FIRE BRIGADE HEROS MONTH: We think firies are amazing, as they put their lives on the line for us. Rural Fire Brigades are often more than just an emergency service - they are also a vital community service providing community meeting points and offer assistance with non-emergency roles. This summer we want to give back to those who give so much for us all year round.

NOVEMBER IS MOVEMBER MONTH: Since 2003, The Movember Foundation has raised over $685 million funding a staggering 832 men’s health projects! They seek to make a global contribution to men living happier, healthier, longer lives, which we think is just wonderful! Being two ladies who run La Source Australia, we won’t be growing moustaches but we will be giving to this great cause! Find out more about them HERE.

OCTOBER IS MENTAL AS MONTH: With nearly half of all Australians impacted by Mental Illness, we are getting behind Mental Health Week, and giving to the Black Dog Institute, because we they are tireless in their efforts to challenge the stigma and support people! Find out more about them HERE.

SEPTEMBER IS FOSTER CARE MONTH: To highlight the needs of some of our most vulnerable australians - children in out of home care, we are giving to the CREATE FOUNDATION. This national organisation represents the voices of children and young people with an out-of-home care experience by providing programs and services to young people in care and developing policy and research
to advocate for a better care system. Find out more about them HERE.

AUGUST IS CURE MELANOMA MONTH: Each month, we give to a local goodwill project and this month as we think of someone very close to us suffering from Melonama, we’d love for there to be a cure!
The Melanoma Institute Australia pioneers advances in melanoma research and treatment that are making a difference to the lives of patients today. Dedicated to preventing and curing melanoma, we are getting behind MIA this month, in support of their invaluable programs! Find out more about their great work HERE.

JULY IS VINNIES WINTER APPEAL MONTH: As we brace ourselves through this cold winter, we know many are doing it tough. Vinnies continues to make a real difference in the lives of 1 out of 18 Australians and for that, we are grateful and keen to support them financially as they rebuild lives and provide hope to so many! Find out more about their great work HERE.

JUNE IS NEPAL RECOVERY MONTH AGAIN: Another powerful 7.3 magnitude earthquake has hit Nepal, two weeks after a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake killed more than 8,000 people. Tens of thousands of people are already displaced - their homes flattened or damaged to such an extent that it is not safe for them to return. Oxfam teams are in Nepal responding with lifesaving essentials – clean water, sanitation and emergency shelter. Find out more info and Donate HERE.

MAY IS NEPAL RECOVERY MONTH: A powerful earthquake has devastated Nepal. More than 6,000 people are reported to have died and thousands are feared to be trapped under rubble. Oxfam teams are already in Nepal responding with lifesaving essentials – clean water, sanitation and emergency food supplies. We normally sponsor local projects but we feel very strongly about Nepal, having travelled there and loved the place and its beautiful people. With a long recovery journey ahead of them, we’d like to see them get back on their feet rapidly and Oxfam alongside other charities are working hard at helping this happen. Find out more info and Donate HERE.

APRIL IS WUNAN MONTH: Wunan is an Aboriginal development organisation in the East Kimberley, with a clear purpose and strategy to drive long-term socio-economic change for Aboriginal people by providing real opportunities, investing in people’s abilities, and by encouraging and rewarding aspiration and self-responsibility. Having worked tirelessly in the community since 1997, we want to encourage them to keep going! Find out more about them HERE.

This wonderful organisation helps support and give hope to the MD community and we think they're doing a great job! Find out more about them HERE.
